Notonlytheordinarynon-criticalphasematching(NCPM)forangularvariationbutalsothenon-criticalphasematchingforspectralvariation(SNCPM)canbeachievedintheLBOcrystal.AsshowninFig.2,thephasematchingretracingpositionsareλ1=1.31μmwithθ=86.4°,φ=0°forTypeIandλ2=1.30μmwithθ=4.8°,φ=0°forTypeII.ThephasematchingatthesepositionspossessverylargespectralacceptancesΔλ.ThecalculatedΔλatλ1andλ2are57nm·cmand74nm·cmrespectively,whicharemuchlargerthanthatofotherNLOcrystals.Thesespectralcharacteristicsareverysuitablefordoublingbroadbandcoherentradiationsnear1.3μm,suchasthosefromsomediodelasers,andsomeOPA/OPOoutputwithoutlinewidth-narrowingcomponents.
